Here is what we covered today:
Class Period 2:
Weslandia Vocabulary, 17-20
17. headdress (n.)- a covering or decoration for the head
18. miserable (adj.)-very unhappy; wretched
19. moan (v.)- a long, low sound of pain, grief, or sorrow.
20. snap (v.)- to speak in a short, sharp, or annoyed way

RWN Page 249: Chose the correct vocabulary words from "Weslandia" to define and fill in the sentences. The word "fleeing" is not a vocabulary word, but means to run.
Homework:
Vocabulary words 16 – 30 x 4, defs x 1.
If I have time tomorrow, I might go over 20-30 in class. However I still want the students to know these words so they are part of the homework:

23. alarming (adj.)- to make afraid or disturbed

26. garage (n.)- a building or part of a building built to shelter cars, trucks, or other vehicles
27. plenty (adj.)- a full amount or supply
28. tormentor (n.)- a person or thing that torments or causes pain
29. staple food crop (n.)- a food that is considered very important and used often
30. mumble (v.)- to speak low and in a way that is not easy to understand; mutter
