Thursday, September 12 Classes

Hello Everyone,

Here is what we covered today:


Class Period 1:

1) Unit 1 Test Review Worksheet. This worksheet has the same format as the test on Friday. For Part A, I read the words and the students wrote them down. I completed some examples for the student in the other sections. Anything the students did not finish in class is homework. 

The main difference between this test and the vocabulary quiz is the alphabetize section and the reading comprehension section.

Class Period 2:

1) Filled out communication books.

2) RWN Pages 251, 302. We finished page 302 from earlier, then went on to do page 251. On page 302, we found the word that belonged with its group. On page 302, we wrote the correct cultural word that matched the definition.


Homework: 

1) Complete the Unit 1 Test Review Worksheet.

2) Study for the Unit 1 Test. Read the "Weslandia" story in Reading Street, know how to spell the words, and use the practice worksheet to help guide you.

Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) We had the Week 4 Vocabulary quiz. 2) Reading Street Pages 51, 54.  Page 51: I finished talking about the Dalmatian story and underlined words that were part of our vocabulary. Page 54: I started the story "Tripping over the Lunch Lady" Homework:  1) I did not have students write in their communication books today, so the normal homework was not assigned. I may attach more writing to next Friday's homework to make up for this. However, please have the students complete the OkSensay Tasks: 2) During the PTO, I discussed the OKSensay software. Students should start their assignments now. For every week, we will have a new lesson, and there are now assignments from the previous weeks and the next week on the website. Tuesday, December 10 Classes

Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class: Class Period 0 Reading Street, Page 203: Read the short story "In the Ocean Deeps". Discussed what was happening in the story and highlighted the vocabulary. The story is about how and why people explore the deep ocean and what can be found there. Class Period 7 Reading Street, Page 204-208: Started reading the unit story and discussed the story and vocabulary in detail. The story is about the exploration of the famous ship The Titanic. Homework: 1) Week 16 Vocabulary #11-20, write words x4, write definitions x1 2) OKSensay Week 16 Reading Comprehension Questions.

Monday, October 14 Classes

Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Period 2: 1) I handed back the test and the worksheet from last Wednesday. 2) I handed back the "Friendly Letter" writing assignment and informed the students that they need to type up the letter on the computer and print it out for me or give to me on a USB drive. However, a USB drive will be preferable since I could print it out myself with the school's letterhead. 3) I talked about Sensay and told they students that they have a new assignment this week and to complete the past weeks' assignments. 4) I went over the new vocabulary for the new story "The Stormi Giovanni Club".
