Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) We had the Week 5 Unit Test. 2) I went over the "Friendly Letter" Writing Assignment with the class. I told the students they need write the friendly letters on one page full page in their Bubble Books. I want the students to complete the rest for homework and turn in on Monday. I will tear the page out later to check it and put it in their folders. Students need to write  THEIR OWN  friendly letter, so I don't want their stories to copy the one in the example or any examples from the internet. Let the student make writing mistakes. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 0: Reading Street pages 54-59. I continued the "Tripping Over the Lunch lady" story. We read the story, I summarized the readings, I pointed out the unit vocabulary, and I asked the class questions. Class Period 7: 1) Reading Street pages 60-61: We read the story, I summarized the readings, I pointed out the unit vocabulary, and I asked the class questions. 2) I talked more about the "Friendly Letter Writing Assignment". In yesterday's blog, I said the students will be writing in class. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) We had the Week 4 Vocabulary quiz. 2) Reading Street Pages 51, 54.  Page 51: I finished talking about the Dalmatian story and underlined words that were part of our vocabulary. Page 54: I started the story "Tripping over the Lunch Lady" Homework:  1) I did not have students write in their communication books today, so the normal homework was not assigned. I may attach more writing to next Friday's homework to make up for this. However, please have the students complete the OkSensay Tasks: 2) During the PTO, I discussed the OKSensay software. Students should start their assignments now. For every week, we will have a new lesson, and there are now assignments from the previous weeks and the next week on the website. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) I reviewed all the vocabulary with the students and showed them some videos related to some of the words to get them interested and familiar with the vocabulary. 2) We played a vocabulary matching game, where we matched the words with the pictures and definitions: https://wordwall.net/play/78248/094/913 Class Period 2: 1) Filled out communication books. 2) Unit 1 Test Review Worksheet. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 2: RWN, Pages 260 and 261. Page 260-Used 5 of our new vocabulary words for matching and fill-in-the-blank activities. Page 261-Explained Antecedents and how to identify them. We then learned how to find their corresponding pronouns. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) Collected worksheets. 2) RWN #257, 303 Page 257: We read a passage and answered subject and object pronoun questions about the sentences. Page 303: Circled the correct pronoun choice within several sentences. 3) Went over the vocabulary again to prepare for the quiz. Class Period 2: 1) The class took the Unit 1 exam. We will move onto a new lesson starting next week. 2) We went over the exam answers after we finished the exam. Homework:  1) Write five original sentences using the "Weslandia" Part 2 vocabulary. Use 2 vocabulary words per sentence. 2) The tests are graded and I will hand them back on Monday for signing. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) Unit 1 Test Review Worksheet. This worksheet has the same format as the test on Friday. For Part A, I read the words and the students wrote them down. I completed some examples for the student in the other sections. Anything the students did not finish in class is homework.  The main difference between this test and the vocabulary quiz is the alphabetize section and the reading comprehension section. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 0: 1) We went over the Sensay AI voice recognition homework system that we will be using every week this semester. Students will need to complete (repeat a paragraph or answer reading comprehension questions) the weekly assignments at home by recording their voice and getting a score.
